The latest technology we introduced recently, C3R/ UV-X, gives us the ability to treat the cause of keratoconus for the first time. As we are an independent clinic we are able to rely on European safety standards and are not held back by NICE as in the NHS.

David Jory, MB,BS, FRCOphth

Trained at St Bartholomew's, The Royal London, Moorfields and St Thomas' Hospitals. David Jory has had an interest in refractive surgery for many years having had microsurgery himself in 1989, and having observed and assisted Peter Choyce (a pioneering cataract surgeon) inserting phakic lenses as long ago as 1991. He has pioneered the use of the CK, C3R/UV-X, phakic lenses, diode laser and scleral implants in the

and is part of a European team looking at some of these results. He was one of the first to insert phakic lenses for higher refractive errors and to carry out surgery for presbyopia (for reading glasses). As a member of the teaching faculty of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, he teaches these procedures to other refractive surgeons internationally. He is also a member of American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and reviews papers for international eye research journals as well as contributing to these. At the 2007 annual conference his paper on Keratoconus treatment was chosen as one of the 5 most important take home messages.
